Citizen TV has been running its program, Who Owns Kenya? for several years. But it concedes that even at $550 million (Shs65 billion) published a British newspaper as his worth in 2007, Gideon Moi, former President Daniel arap Moi’s son, “is the richest person we have, so far, featured.”

John Njoroge Michuki has been at it for a long time, but going by Kenyan standards, he has not amazed dazzling wealth. The Citizen TV in its series,” Who Owns Kenya?” estimates his total net wealth to be only Shs 10 billion. Compare that with the wealth of Kilome Member of Parliament, John Aaron Mwai who, by his own confession, has Shs50 billion worth of investments in the United States alone.

Apparently influenced by the Mau Mau, President Kenyatta, Uhuru’s father, focused his attend ting on acquiring land, for which the Mau Mau – and in deed, the rest of Kenyans – had fought and died. And by the time he died, according to some reports “The combined acreage of all the land owned by the Kenyatta family is equal to Nyanza province.”
